Wyclef @ Jannus Live

Wyclef Jean and his Carnival Tour invaded St. Pete Sunday evening with special guests the Roots of Creation.

In addition to the 12-city Carnival tour, Wyclef has added a five-city tour entitled A Night of Symphonic Hip Hop. This is Wyclef’s first full US tour in 10 years and the talented musician did not disappoint the crowd. The tour coincides with the release of Wyclef’s first album in eight years entitled Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee.  The new album, featured contributions from Emeli Sandé, Supah Mario, The Knocks, as well as Lunch Money Lewis.

The Carnival Man ignited the crowd as he displayed his musical talents singing, rapping, some piano playing, and topping it off as he channeled his inner Jimi Hendrix playing his guitar behind his head. Makes one wonder if after years of playing and collaborating with musicians such as the Fugees, Michael Jackson, Queen, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Earth, Wind & Fire, Carlos Santana and Destiny’s Child perhaps Wyclef’s next project should be rock/metal collaboration. Something completely different, in the mold of the early 80s collaboration of Run DMC and Aerosmith? Heads Music what do you think?

If you are passionate about music, then a Wyclef Jean experience is highly recommended.
