One last stop for Ensiferum…

Ensiferum, the Finnish folk metal band hailing from Helsinki, made a pit-stop in Tampa, the last one on this run, as they make their way to Miami and the 70000 Tons of Metal Cruise. The band continues to promote their latest body of work, Two Paths, as they continent jump from North America to Australia. Two Paths, the band’s seventh album was released in September 2017 via Metal Blade Records and was produced by Aniis Kippo. The album literally takes the concept of “Two Paths“, offering two different versions of the tracks “Don’t You Say” and “God Is Dead“.

This tour marked the band’s first North American shows in almost four years. The headlining tour, originally featuring Septicflesh, was comprised of Arsis, Withering Earth and Wirethrone. The Orpheum in the Ybor District of Tampa was a fitting setting for another Endoxa Booking Presents event.

The crowd was strong for a Tuesday night in Ybor and the room was filled with a raw energy as Wirethrone, then Withering Earth, followed by Arsis set the stage for Ensiferum. The band took the stage with “Ajattomasta Unesta” and proceeded to deliver an inspiring 16-song set that included 4 songs from the Two Paths record and riveting cover of G&R’s “Sweet Child O’Mine“.

Ensiferum is Petri Lindroos (Growling Vocals, Guitar), Markus Toivonen (Clean Vocals, Guitar), Sami Hinkka (Bass, Clean Vocals) and Janne Parviainen (Drums).

The setlist for the Tampa show was…1) Ajattomasta Unesta, 2) For Those About To Fight, 3) Two Paths, 4) Heathen Horde, 5) Twlight Tavern, 6) Treacherous Gods, 7) LAI LAI HEI, 8) Warrior Without a War, 9) From Afar, 10) Wanderer, 11) Way of the Warrior, 12) Two of Spades, 13) Guardians of Fate, 14) In My Sword I Trust, 15) Iron and 16) Sweet Child O’Mine.
