Michigan metalcore band I Prevail unveiled their new studio album Trauma (Fearless Records) earlier this year and the band just concluded their massive touring schedule that includes dates across the United States. The band’s headlining tour kicked off in Kansas City on April 24 and wrapped up with a homecoming show in Grand Rapids, MI on August 9th. As the tour was winding down the band announced their fall tour, The Degenerates Tour, featuring A Day To Remember and Beartooth, which runs September 6th through November 23rd with sets at Danny Wimmer festivals, Louder Than Life and Aftershock.
Trauma represents a victorious moment in the wake of a series of trials and tribulations endured by the Michigan quartet that includes Brian Burkheiser (clean vocals), Eric Vanlerberghe (dirty vocals), Steve Menoian (lead guitar), and Dylan Bowman (rhythm guitar).
The Trauma Tour and I Prevail took over Nashville with a stop at Marathon Music Works on August 5th to a packed house with the help of supporting acts Issues and Justin Stone. I Prevail drained every last drop of energy Nashville had that night with them blending multiple genres such as: heavy metal, hip-hop and electronic. The band reminisced on the last few years to how much this means to them now. The band has endeared themselves to fans with their high-octane, in your face style stage presence that seems to invigorates crowds like a Mike Tyson uppercut. The evenings 16-song set was heavily influenced by the band’s latest release as well as hits off their 2016 debut album Lifelines, which includes the singles “Scars” and “Stuck In Your Head”.
Trauma was the fourth best-selling album of the week in the US upon its release, while its first single, “Breaking Down”, hit the top 10 of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart in May 2019.
Justin Stone hyped up the crowd during his set with his confident persona and authentic lyricism, which elevated the crowd into frenzy. Justin has said, “Live performances are what bring people back again and again. That’s why I make sure they remember who I am at the end of the night” He was correct. He could not be contained on stage, which brought him into the crowd walking on the hands of fans keeping him elevated above them as he made his way to the side bar to sing upon. During 2019, Justin has kept his momentum going as he released his album Homecoming. Justin is also is featured on I Prevail’s song “Rise Above”.
Issues is an American metalcore, Nu Metal, Pop and Contemporary R&B band from Atlanta, Georgia that continued to fire up the crowd as circle pits and crowd surfing erupted song after song.
