Godfather of Shock Rock, Alice Cooper brings ‘Ol’ Black Eyes is Back Tour’ to SW Florida

Alice Cooper, the Godfather of ‘Shock Rock’ embarked on the ‘Ol Black Eyes is Back Tour‘ earlier this summer with Halestorm. The tour saw early success and additional dates were added through the remainder of 2019 and then heads overseas to visit Australia and New Zealand in 2020. The first of four stops in Florida landed Cooper in Ft. Myers which would be followed by visits to Melbourne, Orlando before wrapping up in Clearwater.

Cooper made quite the theatrical entrance for fans in Southwest Florida on Sunday evening as he took the stage dressed in his signature attire and eye makeup. Cooper’s performance was astoundingly impressive, which is no shock for the 50+ year veteran rocker. The set began with “Feed My Frankenstein” off of the 1991 album Hey Stoopid, one of Cooper’s 27 studio albums. The evening played like a greatest hits album as Cooper sang hit song after hit song… “I’m Eighteen”, “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and “Billion Dollar Babies.”

In addition to an evening of classic rock from one of the best in the business, Alice Cooper fans have come to expect a theatrical experience filled with a beheading on a guillotine, a monster in chains wandering around the stage, Alice in a straight jacket, and the infamous corpse bride were just a few of the entertaining highlights that had fans young and old wondering what was next.

The Halloween horror feel created the perfect backdrop as fans were treated to a wicked solo from the extremely talented guitar wizard Nita Strauss. Bassist Chuck Garric thumping on the base like a madman and a heart pumping drum solo from Glen Sobel during “Black Widow Jam” just seemed like the band was full throttle and showed no signs of letting up. Each member carries a unique presence onstage filled with a fiery musical lust that oozes from within that perfectly compliments the maestro of this madness…Alice Cooper

Cooper still has the ability to melt faces at the age of 71 and with an intense 22 song set full of theatrics…this is a tour experience you don’t want to miss.
