Bring Me The Horizon’s First Love Tour rolled into the CFE Arena in Orlando for its second stop of their 17-show tour. Equipped with a towering 9 foot stage and catwalk thus setting the stage for an epic night of music. Earlier in the day BMTH released their sixth studio album, Amo, which was originally scheduled for release on January 11, 2019. Joining BMTH on this US run is Fever 333 and Thrice.
Opening the show was the Fever 333, the three-piece band consists of former Letlive vocalist Jason Butler, former The Chariot guitarist Stephen Harrison and Night Verses drummer Aric Improta. This is one band to put on your must see list. The high-octane performance from these three rapcore musicians is awe inspiring. Butler commands the stage and was very interactive with the crowd, sharing stories about the songs they sing. He was especially grateful for the women in the audience and in his life that made him the man he is today.
Next up was Thrice, an American rock band from Irvine, California. Thrice’s earlier music was known for being fast and based in heavily distorted guitars, prominent lead guitar lines, and frequent changes in complex time signatures followed by a turn to progressive rock. Some of the fan favorites played included “Hurricane”, “Hold Up a Light” and “Black Honey”
Finally it was time for the headliners, Bring Me The Horizon, as they took the stage to a thunderous roar from the amped up crowd. Bring Me The Horizon is one of those bands that constantly re-imagines themselves through each album. The style of their work ranges from the early days of deathcore/metalcore to more of an alternative pop/electronic rock on their latest album. The fans in the audience knew all of the words to each song, danced like their lives depended on it, and had the biggest smiles on their face.
The 16-song set opened with “I Apologize If You Feel Something” from their most recent release, Amo. Other songs from the newly released album included “Mantra”, “Nihilist Blues”,” Wonderful Life” and “Ouch”. The British rockers ended the show with “Drown” from the album That’s the Spirit.
If you missed BMTH on this recent stop in Florida, be sure to check back as the band makes a stop this May in Jacksonville for Welcome To Rockville.
