The weather and Shinedown at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater Sunday evening was Hot, Hot, Hot!! Shinedown continues to make their way across the country on the Attention Attention World Tour, promoting their latest album Attention Attention. The band has toured since February, finally landing in Chicago’s suburb this past weekend. Watch the new animated video for current single “MONSTERS.”
One could just feel the electricity in the air as the house lights dimmed and the curtain obscuring the stage floated to the floor. Vocalist Brent Smith is a master at working the crowd, always certain to maintain the connection, even pausing once to shake hands with the photographers up front. Smith on vocals, Zach Myers on guitar, Barry Kerch banging the drums and Eric Bass on bass create an orgasmic atmosphere that endears them to fans wherever they go.
Belting out selections from their latest album such as “Devil”, “Monster” and “Brilliant” intermixed with the band’s never ending catalog of music that includes; 14 #1’s on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs Chart, which is the second most in chart history. Included in the set was the band’s cover of the Lynyrd Skynyrd hit, “Simple Man” that has become a staple in a Shinedown set. The performance was punctuated by pyrotechnics and an impressive laser display…it is an audio-visual delight!
Supporting Acts
Hailing from Kent in the UK, Broken Hands opened the festivities for those early birds. British Alt-rockers Dinosaur Pile-Up is on the road promoting the band’s newest album ‘Celebrity Mansions‘, which was released on June 7th via their brand new partnership with Parlophone Records.
LA rockers, Badflower, were next to the stage as they continue to promote their latest body of work ‘Ok, I’m Sick‘. By now, the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater had filled with excited fans and Badflower was more than ready to show those eager fans what they were made of. This is a talented, high-octane band that wins over fans one live performance at a time. Keep them on your “to see” list.
Shinedown is roughly midway in their current tour and there are still many opportunities to catch them. This is one band that deserves your Attention, so be sure to catch them when they are in your neighborhood. You won’t be disappointed!
