Excited fans lined up to get their music fix as Greta Van Fleet delivered a stellar performance at the Orlando Amphitheater. Spectators of all ages were in attendance for this show and not only did fans receive an outstanding live performance by Greta Van Fleet and their supporting act. Each ticket holder also received a free physical CD of the band’s first full-length album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army…band merch is always a nice surprise for concertgoers.
Opening act Ida Mae kicked it off.
Melodious sounds came from the stage as the British husband and wife duo, Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean, serenaded the crowd with some good ol’ down to earth, feel-good music. Their music set the mood for the evening, as Turpin shredded some bluesy tunes from his Steelcaster guitar, as Stephanie Jean played the tambourine and the chácaras to make up quite a unique sound for this duo.
Ida Mae recently announced their upcoming release of their debut album Chasing Lights available to the general public on June 7th.
Back in March, they released a music video for their single “Reaching”. As they wind down their tour with Greta Van Fleet, you can catch them playing different blues and folk festivals around the US, with headlining acts including Gov’t Mule, Macklemore, Lionel Richie, and Keith Urban.
The time had come for the evening’s headliner…
The mood was set as fas anxiously waited to get down to some Greta Van Fleet. As Josh entered the stage, he tossed beautiful white roses out to the crowd as they chanted “Greta Van Fleet”. As the band took the stage, they started the evening with the popular hit “Safari Song” which the fans instantly screamed and sang along word for word.
Hearing Josh and seeing the band perform for the first time live, I was blown away by the pure talent this band showcased onstage throughout the evening, not to mention the lighting was a photographers dream.
During the band’s almost 2 hour set, each tune played, and every lyric sung was precise as it sounded on their album. Throughout the evening, the band belted out tune after tune, including hits like “Black Smoke Rising”, “Flower Power”, and “Highway Tune”. With a flawless drum and guitar solo to add into the mix, this is a group of young stars that will continue to evolve musically and their future looks bright.
A little about the band….
