WWE SmackDown Results from Tampa

WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown landed in Tampa on Friday night as the show is back on the road as the entertainment world continues to rebound during these unprecedented times. Prior to the upcoming tour, WWE called the Tampa Bay area home for months. It all started with Tropicana Field in December 2020 when the stadium was transformed into the ThunderDome, a  “world-class” virtual fan experience. Once the baseball season began, the ThunderDome was moved across the bay to start a residency at USF’s Yuengling Center.

The evening continued to play out several storylines leading up to the biggest party of the summer, WWE’s second-biggest event of the year, Summer Slam, which is set to take place at  Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Friday night results below)

Prior to the show going live, Tampa’s very own WWE Superstar and Global Ambassador, Titus O’Neil, made a brief appearance firing up the crowd as he reminisced about the city’s recent sports success…CHAMPABAY!

Fans in attendance were treated to Jon Cena’s dark main event (not seen on tv) when he joined forces with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio for a six-man win over WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos – Jimmy and Jey Uso. Two additional dark matches to kick off the evening saw NXT’s Dakota Kai defeat Aliyah and RAW’s Keith Lee defeat NXT’s Austin Theory.

WWE SmackDown currently airs live every Friday at 8 pm ET on Fox.
