The eighties are long gone but that time in music continues to shine some forty years later as Tesla took to the stage for not one but two sold-out nights at Orlando’s House of Blues. Fresh off the band’s appearance on the Monster of Rock cruise, Tesla embarked on a journey down memory lane with back-to-back 16-song nights that left fans smiling ear to ear. In typical Tesla fashion fans were treated to high-energy live performances, featuring the powerful vocals of lead singer Jeff Keith and the dynamic guitar work of Frank Hannon and Dave Rude.
Tesla is a rock band that was formed in Sacramento, California, in 1981. The band took its name from the famed inventor and electrical engineer, Nikola Tesla. Tesla first gained significant attention in 1986, when they were signed by Geffen Records and released their debut album, “Mechanical Resonance.” The album was a commercial success, featuring hit singles like “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi,” and reaching platinum status in the United States.
Tesla’s second album, “The Great Radio Controversy,” was released in 1989 and also achieved platinum status. The album featured the hit singles “Love Song” and “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out).”
Over the next few years, Tesla continued to release successful albums, including “Psychotic Supper” (1991), “Bust a Nut” (1994), and “Into the Now” (2004). The band’s sound was characterized by their hard rock style, which incorporated elements of blues and acoustic rock.
In addition to their successful albums, Tesla also gained a reputation as a dynamic live act. They toured extensively throughout the 1980s and 1990s, both as a headlining act and as a support act for other major rock bands like Def Leppard, David Lee Roth, and Poison
In recent years, Tesla has continued to tour and release new music. They released their most recent album, “Shock,” in 2019, which featured the singles “Taste Like” and “Shock.” The band has also been inducted into the Sacramento Music Awards Hall of Fame and continues to be a beloved and influential band in the hard rock genre.
