The Ukraine Metal Outfit Jinjer Takes Tampa by Storm

Rarely do European bands headline their first extensive North American tour to such fanfare. The Ukraine metal outfit Jinjer has taken the US by storm, selling out show after show. The buzz was staggering throughout the metal community of the band’s announcement of their North American tour in support of the band’s 2019’s Micro EP via Napalm Records. The hype is real.

2019 has become the year of Jinjer as the band has toured extensively worldwide, released the Micro EP and continue to work on new material with the anticipation a late 2019 release for its new album.

Thanks to social media and music streaming engines, the band has created a cult-like following as hoards of metal fans lined up early for the bands sold-out VIP meet and greet and show. The line outside Tampa’s Orpheum in the Ybor City district wrapped around the block with eager fans on this Tuesday night.

It was standing room only as metal fans vied for coveted spots stage front as Canada’s Cyco Sumo and then The Browning from Kansas City kicked-off the festivities. There was no dying from the onset that fans were there for one band and when Jinjer took the stage, the venue erupted with roar of excitement as the band broke into “Teacher, Teacher.”

The band proceeded to deliver a 16-song set that was diverse, including songs off a mix of the band’s albums and EPs; Cloud, Factory, Micro, King of Everything, and Macro. Frontwoman Tatiana Shmailyuk commanded the crowd like a seasoned pro as she moved around the stage unleashing her ferocious vocals as she undoubtedly melted faces.

New fans were won on this evening and existing fans became diehard believers. This is a live experience not to miss.
