Tab Benoit, Louisiana’s Hottest Rocking Bluesman!

Tab Benoit recently brought his seemingly unending roadshow to Hartford, Connecticut. Tab’s career spans over 30 years and he doesn’t show signs of slowing down in the least. The Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and guitarist played to a packed house at the Infinity Music Hall.

He has been a driving force in the Louisiana music scene. He has played with notable New Orleans artists Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Cyril Neville, and many others. Tab has also collaborated with a host of blues and country musicians, Willie Nelson, James Cotton, Billy Joe Shaver to name a few.  His many years of dishing out hard-driving swamp blues have earned him a legion of devoted fans.  Tab has also won 5 Blues Music Awards, including BB King Entertainer of the Year (twice) as well as an induction into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

The show in Hartford had no opening band which in a way is a blessing. Why? Because once Tab and his 3 piece outfit hits a stage, they blow away anyone preceding them! The rhythm section of bassist Corey Duplechin and drummer Terence Higgins added their own high-powered energy to the evening’s festivities. Anyone who has seen Benoit before knows that Duplechin is as much fun to watch as any bass player out there. His facial expressions are unmatched!

The band ripped into a killer version of “Why Are People Like That” to start the show. After that, there was no doubt that the audience was in for a night to remember. With a catalog of so many songs, no doubt some folks’ favorites were left out. However, not a soul left the venue disappointed. A Tab Benoit show is pure fun and enjoyment for his fans. One could also tell that Tab and his crew were thrilled to be back on the road after the pandemic-induced hiatus.

Do yourself a favor and see this amazing band. If you’ve seen them, you’re nodding your head. If you’ve never seen them, you’ll thank me! For a list of the multitude of upcoming shows that Tab and the band will be playing, CLICK HERE
