Snoop Dogg & friends set blaze to HOB in Orlando

Snoop Dogg kicked off his North American tour December 2nd at the Fillmore in San Francisco in support of his new album I Wanna Thank Me released via Doggy Style Records. The tour pauses for the holidays with shows in Orlando and a Pool Party in Tampa at the Hard Rock. The leg picks back up in CT on January 17th before concluding on January 26th in Detroit, after which the rapper will head to the U.K.

Snoop’s latest album I Wanna Thank Me was released this past August and is the rapper’s seventeenth LP, the record includes guest appearances by Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Russ, Slick Rick, Jermaine Dupri and more.

The evening’s original line up was to include Warren G & RJMrLA along with Snoop as the headliner; however, upon arriving at the venue guests were advised of a line up change as Warren G was unable to attend. The new line up included Triggs, TayF3rd, Trae, RJMrLA, OT Genasis with Snoop Dogg closing out the sold out show at Orlando’s House of Blues.

The lineup change delivered new and unfamiliar musicians with TayF3rd standing out! He had an infectious smile to go along with some great beats and is definitely worth checking out. During OT Genasis’ set a woman who had pushed her way to the front decided to throw a beer on stage and got herself kicked out of the show. Moral of the story, if you want to stay and watch the show with your friends, don’t be a jerk!

Now onto the main attraction, Snoop D-O-Double G. The man of the night strolled on stage in typical Snoop fashion… laid back and instead of sippin’ on “Gin & Juice” he was wearing a jacket celebrating the 25th anniversary of his hit single. Snoop seemed to roll through his hits with the crowd, which was one of the most diverse group of people I have seen at a rap/hip hop show, singing along word for word. Later in the evening, Snoop ran through a medley of tributes to fallen MCs like Eazy-E, Biggie Smalls, Tupac and Mac Dre.
