No matter where you catch a Skillet performance, whether it is at a venue or a festival, fans are never disappointed. Skillet is currently on their Victorious Tour with Ledger and Ashes to New. Prior to Skillet taking the stage, it was announced that the band had accomplished something that no other band has been able to do yet at the Von Braun Center Mars Music Hall.
This was the venues’ very first completely sold –out show where fans had to be turned away at the door. The venue was packed from start to finish as Ledger and Ashes to New started things off. All ages were welcome to the show as kids as young as 2-years old and others in their 90’s rocking it out to the sounds and entertainment of a truly inspirational rock band. Each of their songs tell a story and energize the crowd with different tempos and feelings each time. Fully animated onstage and ever so obvious that they love every moment they spend performing on stage.
You never truly know what’s about to come next between the moving platform risers for ‘Whispers in the Dark’, held smoke/air cannons strapped to John Cooper’s arms, or a cello player that comes out wailing on his instrument. Not only have I found Skillet concerts to be entertaining but inspirational as well. Always providing messages of hope and determination making everyone in attendance realize they are not alone in this world and they are loved. Skillet engages the crowd every chance they get either by getting in the crowd or in their faces on stage with the riffs belting throughout the arena.
The band’s newest album is “Victorious” and is available now.
