Roxx Revolt and the Velvets bring the heat to South Street

It was a hot and steamy night in Naples, FL and the temperature kept rising as Roxx Revolt and the Velvets rocked South Street City Oven and Grill.

This band has so much energy and their glammy punk ‘n roll sound really rocks. The crowd wasted no time moving to the front of the stage as they began to play. This is our second time seeing them and you can be sure we will be keeping any eye on them!

Under the stage name of Roxx Revolt, multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Roxette Barrios makes a dream come to life, offering dusts of anarchy and music full of rhythm charged with glam sweeps in every song.

Born and raised in the small city of Cabimas, Venezuela, Roxx Revolt started her musical journey at 5-years old when she had her first encounter among notes and melodies, at the young age of 13 she ventured into the music world by playing with local bands at social gatherings just so she could later become the creator of her own band in 2011. After two years of practicing and polishing she introduced “los Navajo” into the music scene with the filled singles “Ted Bundy” and “No Todos Somos Clavos”.

Roxx took a step forward in 2014 and shot for the stars by moving out of her hometown and becoming a solo artist. In 2018, was the chosen year for the release of her debut solo single “Delilah” as well as the formation of Roxx Revolt and the Velvets. They had their first show at a talent show in Fort Myers at the Palms Theater, from there they performed for the first time in a venue called Rock for Equality and since then they have been playing around locally.

Their sound is a mix of influences from all the members, Jacob (the guitar player) is their modern mind and he keeps them current. Dan (Bass Player) is a bit heavier so he gives them a heavier punch that brings it all together. Roxx’s influences are mostly 70’s rock and roll as well as 80’s punk. They like to say they make a glammy punk and roll as the result of the mix of styles.

The band recently recorded 3 singles at Juniper Studios,  “King Revolt“, “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and “Tina” Those will be released in the next month while they are currently working on recording the whole album.

South Street City Oven & Grill is not your typical rock bar nor is it a large venue. What they are is a great place with some of the best food that allows you the opportunity to get up close and personal with your favorite acts from various genres. We love this place and the people and we try to get here as often as we can!! You can check out South Street on Facebook as well as their website: www.southstreetnaples.com
