Rivers of Nihil, currently on tour promoting its newest release, Where Owls Know My Name, made a pit stop in the Ybor City district of Tampa on Tuesday night. Joining the Reading, PA quintet were the bands Entheos, Conjurer, Wolf King, Wirethrone and Murkov. The Where Owls Know My Name Tour includes 35 US shows followed by a European leg that coincides with band’s latest release.
On March 16th, Rivers of Nihil released their third full-length, Where Owls Know My Name, via Metal Blade Records. In celebration of the new release the band will be playing the record in its entirety. Whereas the band’s previous releases, The Conscious Seed of Light (2013) and Monarchy (2015) were thematically centered around spring and summer, Where Owls Know My Name represents the fall.
Formed in 2009 by Brody Uttley (Guitar), Adam Biggs (Bass/Vocals), and Jake Dieffenbach (Vocals), the band brought in guitarist Jon Topore and drummer Jared Klein to complete the band.
The low stage and dark lighting seemed fitting for the evenings headliner as they moved through their 12-song set, which wrapped up with a song from each of the band’s first two albums, Monarchy and The Conscious Seed of Light.
