Queensryche -Still Rocking Hard after 40 Years

Queensryche formed in 1980 in Bellevue, Washington. Even though there have been several member changes throughout the years, the true spirit of the original band remains. Queensryche still rocks hard. Their latest release is 2019’s “The Verdict”. This was the third studio album with Todd La Torre on lead vocals. It has certainly solidified his place in the Queensryche lineup.

They recently brought their frenzied metal barrage to the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. There was a large crowd in the arena as well as watching from outside the open-air indoor arena. The set was filled with old classics much to the delight of their long-time fans.

The set opened with LaTorre belting out the powerful “The Needle Lies” which set the tone for the evening. The band was there to rock and the crowd responded.  The band fed off the crowd’s enthusiasm as the show went on. They seemed to be having fun on stage and after how long the live music industry has been at a standstill, how could they not? Bassist Eddie Jackson was doing most of the clowning around on stage but they were all full of smiles.

Some fans couldn’t handle the lead singer change that took place in 2012. However, LaTorre certainly proved that he is a versatile metal singer. Whether belting out a heavy song like “Walk In The Shadows” or vocally caressing a ballad like “Silent Lucidity”, he handled the job admirably.

There aren’t many bands that rock as hard and as long as Queensryche has, 40+ years is a long time to be the metal road warriors that they’ve been. If you’ve never seen the band, see them. Even if you aren’t a big fan of metal, their show will certainly entertain you. TOUR DATES
