Pig Floyd makes their debut at The Reilly Arts Center in Ocala

On the evening of April 20th, fans of all ages gathered into The Reilly Arts Center for an intimate evening of music that they will not forget. Dressed sharply in the proper attire to reenact the part, the 8 members of the Pink Floyd tribute band “Pig Floyd” definitely went above and beyond for their fans.

As the show began, John Conrath was behind the clarinet with Ron Howard Jr. rocking the accordion, these two incredible musicians opened the show with “In The Flesh” and rolled right into the next tune “The Thin Ice”. The crowd was mesmerized as the band played on, bringing classics hits like “Another Brick in the Wall” and “Mother, Money, and Time” to the first set of the night.

A very theatrical performance with an intense laser light show, one could imagine that this was what it would be like seeing Pink Floyd in concert back in the early ’70s. Lead singer Ron Howard hit each and every note flawlessly with the rest of the band synthesizing the music for a perfect output of each song played.

Personally, I love a beautiful voice, and Jenny Van Waes delivered not only that but with a glow behind her landing this remarkable singer a standing ovation for her rendition of “The Great Gig in the Sky”. Each band member brings an individual piece of their love for music and displays it on the stage during each song, and it was noticed. As I was capturing shots throughout the evening, I heard many fans raving about how amazing each member was and the overall love of the performance by the band. Recreating music from a legendary band is not an easy task to achieve, but Pig Floyd was up for the challenge as they crushed it with precision throughout the evening. Everything from the saxophone down to the props including the pig masks, this show definitely makes Pig Floyd the #1 Pink Floyd Tribute band in America.

Now let’s meet the band…. here is each member and the instruments they master to bring you the soothing tunes that make up the band “Pig Floyd”.
