No One is Safe at a GWAR Show

The Scumdogs of the Universe conquered Brooklyn Bowl in downtown Nashville, Tennessee on the second stop of their current fall leg of  ‘The Black Death Rager World Tour‘ in support of the band’s latest release, The New Dark Ages, via the Pit Records label. The album features a guest appearance from Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale who guests on the track “The Cutter”. Gwar has also released a graphic novel entitled, In The Duoverse Of Absurdity, which marks the first time Gwar has linked a graphic novel to an album. We know fans can’t get enough so be sure to also watch the band’s documentary “This is GWAR” which was released last October on Blu-Ray and DVD. Supporting acts on this tour are Nekrogoblikon and Crobot.

The Lords and Masters spared no one from the destruction and wrath that can only happen at a GWAR extravaganza. As GWAR was preparing for our destruction, the event staff was busy taping off everything in the venue with plastic. Security team members donned their rain gear as one patron asked if they were safely out of the kill zone. The response was if you’re in this building, you’re not getting out of here unscathed. Sprayers were tested and once everything was in place, BälSäc, Beefcake, Pustulus Maximus, and JiZMak da Gusha entered the stage making way for the one and only The Berserker Blóthar.

GWAR took no time once on stage to let the bloodbath begin with the triple D’s; Decapitations, Dismemberment, and Disembowelments. More than 60 Gallons of blood and gore are propelled into the crowd in every direction.  The evening’s highlights included a fan’s bloody stump after a decapitation, wrestling Vladimir Putin, someone hiding classified documents, and spewing unthinkable amounts of fluids toward the human scum in the crowd (fans). We can not forget to mention Blóthars 4-udders firing blood and slime that reached the top balconies.

Included in the evening’s setlist was “None but the Brave,” being performed live for the first time since 1996 as well as the live debut of “New Dark Age”, “Bored to Death”, and “Venom of the Platypus”.
