John Lodge, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, and recent inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, brought his ‘Classic Moody Blues’ solo tour to the Infinity Hall in Hartford, Connecticut. While the music isn’t exactly the Moody Blues, it’s a satisfyingly close replica. Those who are fans of the legendary band would agree that Lodge’s shows are certainly worth seeing! If you love The Moody Blues music, then you really need to check out John live. Joining John on stage is his ’10,000 Light Years Band’, and together they capture the spirit and heart of the classic Moody Blues songs. He and the band put on an amazing show.
This was a not-to-be-missed show full of beautifully crafted songs, great energy and sound, and a fantastic atmosphere that ‘brought the audience to their feet’, and it was a great opportunity to see this ‘rock legend’ and also ‘great guy’ perform in an intimate setting, up close and personal. With the Moody Blues on hiatus, this was a unique opportunity to see John perform his Moody Blues’ hits and more, and, once more, experience the passion and energy of their music. As John says, “I want to keep the Moody Blues music alive!” On this night in Hartford, there is no doubt, he achieved his goal.
While his tour is ending shortly, you can check for upcoming dates here on his website.
Infinity Hall is a 500 seat venue that hosts many live performances throughout the year. Located in downtown Hartford, there are several top shelf restaurants in the immediate area. The venue boasts a world class sound system. This sound system delivers a pristine sound which is unrivaled. With several bars, one can obtain drinks while not missing a beat or the patron can sit in the spacious main bar. Mind you, the main bar is pretty much empty during performances. There is a lot of very inexpensive parking located within a very short walk from the venue. The venue is patterned after the original Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT. While the Norfolk venue is not very convenient for the whole state, the Hartford venue certainly is! This is not to disparage the Norfolk venue. It is a beautiful old theater that everyone should experience!
