Butcher Babies Still Melting Faces

The Butcher Babies Vs. Goliath’s headlining tour made a stop in Atlanta on Tuesday evening at the Masquerade. The show marks the band’s third of 32-shows that runs from August 28 to October 8, with an additional four festival appearances that include Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, and Metal in the Mountains. Joining the festivities are Infected Rain and Stitched Up Heart with Kaleido appearing on select dates.

Knocking off the rust after a prolonged period of time off the road was unnecessary as the Butcher Babies brought their fiery brand of metal to The Masquerade’s Hell stage on Tuesday evening. High energy and attitude have been the band’s calling card from the beginning and instrumental in creating its die-hard, cult-like following. In an era where a band’s music can be reduced to a mere thumbs-up via any online platform, the Butcher Babies continue to provide fans an intense live show experience that will not only melt your face-off but is guaranteed to make one an instant fan.

The evening’s set would revolve around but not be limited to the band’s critically acclaimed debut album Goliath in its entirety. It was evident from the initial note that the band was elated to be back performing in front of fans after a prolonged hiatus as everyone was all smiles. Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey are the quintessential frontwomen as they navigated the crowd through the set. Heidi with her raw power, fists in the air as she barked orders to the masses, while Carla teased the crowd with her demonic grin and those earth-shattering dirty vocals, enticing the crowd to follow the band through its musical journey.

Butcher Babies kicked off 2021 by independently releasing a handful of newly energized singles produced and co-written by Matt Good (From First To Last), including the most recent track “Last Dance” in April. Along with previously released singles “Yorktown”, “Sleeping With The Enemy” and “Bottom Of A Bottle”, they are to be featured on the band’s upcoming self-released EP.
