Spoken landed at South Street City Oven & Grill in Naples, FL and shook the crowd up with some rockin’ tunes that garnered them many new fans.
For over twenty-two years and with nine studio albums completed, Spoken has been tearing it up on the Christian Rock/Metal scene. Don’t let the genre run you off, these guys are that good and they give everything they have to put on a show.
As with most bands that last that long, time brings changes. The one constant has been lead singer Matt Baird. In 1996, Matt felt that he was being led to create a band and spread the word and hope of Jesus. In addition to Spoken, Matt also is a solo acoustic artist and he also enjoys doing guest worship at churches across the world.
On April 11th, guitarist J.R. Bareis was officially announced as a member of the band. At the ripe old age of fifteen he was picked by Brian “Head” Welch to join him in Love and Death and also worked with Head on Korn projects. Now at the age of 24 J.R. takes on his new role with Spoken and does it very well. I don’t think he stood still for more than three seconds the whole set. This dude loves to rock out!!
Also on guitar is newcomer Colson Wabshaw. Much like J.R., Colson loves to rock out on stage and give a great show.
Keeping everyone in check and the music sounding tight is drummer Isaiah Perez. With that sweet Heart Custom Drums set decked out with Evans Heads, Isaiah rocks the kit hard with Promark Sticks.
If Spoken come’s to your town go out and see them!! The music sounds great and the stage presence is just as good.

South Street City Oven & Grill is not your typical rock bar nor is it a large venue. What they are is a great place with some of the best food that allows you the opportunity to get up close and personal with your favorite acts from various genres.
