93X FM and Rage More Events brought in Buckcherry to the Dixie Roadhouse as the band is out on the Warpaint Tour supporting its latest release, Warpaint, which dropped in March.
For 20 plus years Buckcherry has been rocking hard and they have 8 albums under their belt and it doesn’t appear they’ll be stopping anytime soon. Much like other bands that have been around awhile they have gone through some lineup changes.
Josh Todd is the last remaining original remember and lets face it, without him there would be no Buckcherry. Josh has the style and he definitely has the voice and we all know he has been there and done that in his rock and roll life to keep coming up with great material.
While not an original member, Stevie D has been rocking his position with Buckcherry since 2005. Being longtime friends, he and Josh have developed their communication skills during the writing process very well. He also has a good voice in addition to his savvy guitar skills.
Kelly LeMieux has been covering the low end for Buckcherry since 2003. He’s a wild man on the stage and pretty fun to photograph.
Kevin Roentgen joined Buckcherry in 2017 and has done a great job filling in the role of lead guitar. Some interesting side notes about Kevin is that in addition to being the frontman for American Pearl as well as Soul, he wrote and produced original music compositions for Fox TV promos including New Girl, Ben and Kate, Enlisted, The Following, ADHD, Glee, Hell’s Kitchen, Allen Gregory, American Idol, Lone Star, Chicago Code, Fringe, Bones, Cops, Empire, The Exorcist, Rosewood, Gotham, Ghosted and The Orville.
The newest member, Francis Ruiz, joined the band at the start of the tour. Man, if you look at this guy’s resume as a drum tech alone. He’s worked with Paul Bostaph, Charlie Benante, Mikkey Dee, Tommy Aldridge, James Kottak, Jeff Fabb, Mick Brown and also filled in for Mikkey Dee as MOTÖRHEAD toured through Canada in 2009. This man is a monster on the kit and he fits in so well with Buckcherry.
Fans crowded the stage as the band kicked off the night with their Nine Inch Nail’s cover of “Head Like a Hole”. They followed it up with their anthem “It’s a Party” off of their All Night Long album. Up next was “Bent” with it’s straight forward rocking sound that is off of the new Warpaint album as well as “Radio Song”, a catchy little tune.
We went way back as the played “Lit Up” off of the 1999 self titled album Buckcherry and then we went hard as they went into “Somebody F–ked With Me” off of the appropriately named F–K album. From then on it was “Right Now” off of Warpaint followed by “Everything” off of 15. “Too Drunk…” off of the Black Butterfly album was then followed by “Sorry” from 15, “Gluttony” from Confessions and “Crazy Bitch” off of 15 mixed in with “Two Tickets to Paradise” and “Jungle Boogie”.
They finished the night off with “Say F–k it” from the F–K album. Needless to say the setlist was great and we all had an absolute blast!!
Make sure you go out and get Warpaint and by all means if Buckcherry is coming near you, GO SEE THEM!!
Thank you 93X FM and Rage More Events for putting on another rocking show!! We’d also like to give a shout out to our brothers behind the scenes, Jet Live Events and Fat Chris Productions!! We are very lucky to have them all here in Southwest Florida!!
