Earlier this year, 3 DOORS DOWN released a re-mastered, 20th Anniversary Edition of The Better Life album, followed by a 42-city, amphitheater tour across the US to celebrate the milestone. The Better Life 20th Anniversary Tour, marks a celebration of the band’s debut album that propelled the band to stardom worldwide. The band will be playing The Better Life in its entirety, front to back throughout the tour along with other fan fovorites. Throughout the tour, 3 DOORS DOWN will be joined by different special guests that include Seether, Candlebox, Theory of a Deadman, and Blackberry Smoke.
Stop #17 at the MECU Pavilion in Baltimore marked the band’s first show in MD since 2018. Joining the festivities on this night was Seether, who recently released their Wasteland- Purgatory EP, the band’s second release in a year. Seether’s latest collaboration comes on the heels of their 2020 release, Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum that saw the first two singles from the album, “Dangerous” and “Bruised and Bloodied” reach #1. As one would expect from Seether, a vintage 12-song set pulled from seven different alums and setting the tone for the evening headliners.
“If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman”…echoed through the MECU Pavilion as the evening kicked off with band’s smash hit and the 2000 Billboard Music Top Rock Song, “Kryptonite.” There was little mystery through the first 11-songs as the band manuevered through the entirety of The Better Life album. The band rolled through an additional six songs that included two encores, “Here Without You” and to honor first responders they closed their set with “When I’m Gone.”
THE BETTER LIFE 20th Anniversary Edition and the “Escatawpa Sessions,” recorded in the band’s Mississippi hometown in 1996, features seven demo versions from The Better Life, as well as three previously unreleased tracks. The 3LP box set features a custom lithograph, a six-page booklet with never-before-seen photos and extensive liner notes, and interviews with the band and executives from their label and talent agency. A 2CD and an expanded digital album of The Better Life are also available and each feature four new bonus tracks.
